Reborn: Legacy
Legacy is a long-term, old-school project following the official update schedule from Chronicle 1 to High Five.
This is a 7-year journey designed to recreate the authentic Lineage II experience as it was meant to be played.
With the spirit of Origins and Signature, Legacy offers retail-close content on a modern, stable classic client. This is the definitive home for mature, long-term players who value the purity of the game.
Nostalgic Experience
To preserve the social fabric of the game and eliminate the "min-max" culture that ruined the classic experience, Legacy implements strict rules:
- Subscription Based: A fair sub-model replaces the need for premium shops, custom cosmetics, or "pay-to-skip" services.
- True Single-Box: No dual-boxing and no account sharing. One player, one character, one world.
- Modern Quality of Life: While the content is old-school, the interface is not. Enjoy auto-soulshots and a modern mailing system without the critical errors of the 2004 client.
- Zero-Tolerance for "Drivers": A system designed to kill the 24/7 "Driver" meta. L2 is a game, not a job.
- Removing MDT as an offline shop gathering area Cities will feel more lively.
- Removing buffers on relog: Buffers on relog will be prevented; it won't be possible, for example, to have PP / SE / EE on relog played by 1 person.
- No Buff Selling: Selling buffs for Adena is strictly prohibited. These "buff shops" are often just alt boxes from someone playing on their main, and they destroy the social dynamic by making support classes obsolete for groups. Support players should be invited to parties, not treated as static NPC buffers. (Example: Players advertising WTS buffs / XP or wearing it as their title will be punished)
- Removing Retail Bugs: All kinds of retail bugs (like Healing Cubic healing across the map) will be fixed and won't exist.
Anti-Powerleveling & Security
We have implemented technical measures to ensure a level playing field where solo players can still co-exist with the community:
- No Powerleveling Services: Selling powerleveling services (WTS EXP for Adena) is not allowed. This prevents party and social dynamics from devolving into pure speed and min-maxing, and it cuts off a major avenue for RMT, dual-boxing, and AFK play.
- Strict Driver Rules: The usage of drivers, hired drivers, or the min-max CP structure (rotating large amounts of people to play in one party) is not allowed. Any attempt to bypass this system is a bannable offense.
- HWID Locking: Only 1 device can log an account every 24 hours. A maximum of 3 unique devices can log an account within a 30-day window.
-
This means you can play from home, work, or during a trip, but only on one device a day.
-
Fatigue System: To prevent 24/7 account exploitation and powerleveling, the rates for XP, SP, Adena, and Drops decrease drastically after extended daily playtime.
- This system can be per account or character (likely character initially).
-
Details will come later on whether it will function as an inverse vitality system (where you get less experience as you gain experience).
-
Active Moderation: Manual GM inspections and pattern recognition to eliminate "hired drivers".
- The "Anti-CP" Philosophy: Success is driven by socialization and clan unity, not by rotating 20 people onto a single party to dominate a server.
This set of measures will provide a healthy server, a healthy community, and a true social experience.
Mechanics & Progression
Legacy stays true to the vanilla spirit while making quality-of-life improvements to the problematic 20-year-old design flaws:
- Chapter Progression: Starting at C1, the game evolves naturally. Game-breaking balance issues, like Destroyer or Pole-farming, won't work like retail. Just as Sleep was tuned on Signature, you can expect similar proactive balancing on Legacy.
-
The plan is not to remaster old chronicles. Chronicles will be released mostly Vanilla, catering to old-school players.
-
Economy & Shops: Offline shops are supported. Yearly subscribers receive a dedicated secondary account specifically for offline trading.
- No Sub to Main feature: It is known that the server will evolve from C1 to H5, so plan accordingly.
- No drop on death by monsters: An outdated mechanic that is better off removed for the long-term health of the server.
- Limited Pull Range: Meant to discourage try-hard meta gameplay for destro/mage packs.
- Extended Subclass System: Subclasses can be leveled to 85 and acquire skills. Subclass Certifications can be selected regardless of the subclass type. This system is designed to provide role flexibility within clans and groups, allowing players to reroll or adapt to new chronicles on a single character.
- Manor System 2.0: Key changes made to fix crop stock inflation over time and time-based click races.
Subscription Plans
To maintain a 100% Fair Play environment, Legacy operates on a subscription model. This replaces the need for premium shops, custom cosmetics, or "pay-to-skip" services.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | During Black Friday (Yearly) | Account Limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nobles Plan | 9€ | 89€ (7,40€/mo) | 44,50€ (3,70€/mo) | 1 Account |
| Hero Plan | 14€ | 139€ (11,60€/mo) | 69,50€ (5,80€/mo) | 1 Account + 1 Offline-shop Account |
- Black Friday is usually held in November, where you can top-up your balance and receive a +50% free bonus.
- A regular account can set up an offline shop as long as you are not playing another character during that time.
- Additionally, we will offer an offline-shop service for 5€/mo. Maximum 2 per plan.
- This concludes the monetization for the server. Cosmetics will be earned from Events, as events can only reward cosmetics, not game-impacting items.
After Legacy, our server stack is complete. No new servers, just a permanent, evolving home for the community.
There are other things worth mentioning, but it is better to wait for us to host a stream/podcast where we will explain the server concept and all its features in depth. (No date known, please wait.)
